Lost Girls Song

Please check out this story about a few of Sudan's "Lost Girls" that made it to the US :

This issue never got as much attention as it should have.  Since 2001 so many boys were rescued from Kakuma, Kenya and taken to the US for resettlement.  Many of their sisters and cousins were left behind to suffer in the refugee camps, were married off for dowry or left to fend for themselves.  To this day, it still seems strange that they were overlooked the way they were.

This song, "Lost Girls", was written about these women.

I like the sound of this track... it is very groovy. I wasn't sure what to expect, is all Sudanese pop music like this or does it deviate from the norm? What type of string instrument is used... it feels slightly Arabic, something like a lute or sitar... or is it all synthesized?

All the best for your election work, don't give up, keep working hard and all prayers that God's best hope and design for the nation will prevail.

with much love to you and yours,

Jai

Jai I do believe everything was synthesized... Mary produced it in a local studio that produces alot of kenyan music. They did their best to incorporate "arabic" sound into the thing, but I think it more closely reflects styles found in East Africa.

It is a groovy track. I enjoyed it.:)
